BIMM Winter Symposium & Members Forum 2nd & 3rd December 2011
St Mary’s Hospital, Paddington, London

A fascinating insight into central motor control both normal and abnormal provided by Prof John Rothwell from Queens Square, London, a leading researcher and author.  This is the keynote address hence the title of the meeting “Order and Disorder”. We will also have presentations of a manual treatment curing an “incurable” locomotor disorder with tutoring in the method; upper limb including hand and wrist problems, and a stimulating selection of practical workshops.

Clinical Forum
on Friday 2nd December 2.30 – 5pm,
for members’ presentations.

Cours "Massmechanics and Preferential Functions"
the 6th Annual Academy Meeting, Copenhagen International Academy for Musculoskeletal Medicine the 5th-8th September 2011 before the 11th Nordic Congress held the 8th-10th September in Musculoskeletal Medicine and Therapy

Introduction
The aim of this day to bring you theoretical and practical in contact with mass-mechanical thinking and preferential movements.
The knowledge of mass-mechanics, a more global way judging posture/movements based on simple physics and preferential movements based on the neurophysiologic, partly scientific explained theory of lateralisation could be an addition to your personal MM-knowledge.
Although we know this is an introduction we give you a lot of information to reflect, most is already known but in another way polarised.
For educational reasons the day is divided in smaller parts partly more theoretical partly more practical.

Programme the 7th September 2011
Introduction Mass mechanics and Laterality in relation to IMM
09.00-09.15 Introduction
09.15-10.15 Mass mechanics part of physics and his value in Manual Medicine,
Does it explain our theories?
10.15-10.30 Pause
10.30-11.00 Literature review: Laterality and/or Preferential mobility an introduction
11.00-11.30 Preferential mobility, its relation to the human body. Is it scientifically
reproducible?
11.30-12.00 Demonstration preferential mobility
12.00-13.30 Pause
13.30-14.00 Mass mechanics used in Diagnostics (theoretical and hands on)
14.00-14.30 Mass mechanics used in Therapeutics (theoretical and hands on)
14.30-15.00 Preferential mobility used in Diagnostics (theoretical and hands on)
15.00-15.15 Pause
15.15-15.45 Preferential mobility used in Therapeutics (theoretical and hands on)
15.45-16.15 Examples of mass mechanics related to preferential mobility visa versa
16.15-16.30 Summery
16.30-16.45 Test form

Marsman reward announcement!

In May this year the board of governors announced a triennial Marsman-reward for a published scientific research paper based on laterality and mobility of the apparatus locomotor. The site will be in the air early in January 2009 for information about the rules and for subscription.
